Bill Smock made a special trip on Monday, November 11th on the Pastime Princess and look what happened.  He cleaned up on some beautiful cobia (this photo), red snapper and trigger fish (No photo). Here is Bill with his nice red snapper on the same trip.  What a whopper. Here is Bill with a side view of his beautiful cobia on the same trip.  Congratulations, Bill

Vernon Cash won his umpteenth (code word for a bunch) fish pool prize on a trip on the Pastime Princess on August 7th with a nice cobia.  Also shown are some scamp grouper.  Also on this trip were Bill Smock and Ev Arnold who boated a couple of nice strings of vermillion snapper, seabass, porgy and trigger fish. Wow!! Here we go again! The "Magician Fisherman" did it again.  Look at this nice 23-lb, 32" gag grouper caught by Vernon Cash.  Needless to say he won the $100 big fish pool again.  Arlene Cash was also on this trip on October 2nd on the Pastime Princess, and between them they also caught vermillion snapper, sea bass and trigger fish.

A great trip was had on the Haf n Haf on June 6th.  Over 200 pounds of fish were caught including 7 amberjacks, 2 gag grouper, 1 silky shark, 1 cuda and a few other assorted fish. The wild bunch includes George Van Der Horn, Ray Johnson, Bob Seguin, Jack Van Der Wende, Willie Kuecker and Millard Johnson This amberjack, caught by Millard Johnson, broke the boat and the club record weighing in at 69 pounds.  Way to go Millard. Mate Matt holding one of the two gag groupers weighing in at about 20 pounds each.  Looks like Bob is about to faint back there.

Dick Gamble, John Storer, Jim Morrison and Dale Stank hold a nice cobia caught recently during a trip to Stuart, Florida aboard the Fat Chance II with Skipper Dick Eveson. Arlene and Vernon Cash made a recent trip to Destin, Florida where they limited out on some nice red snapper, 8 total.  Too bad Destin isn't closer

What a day on the Thunder, November 18th.  Dick Gamble boated 4 keeper gags. Everett had to help him hold them up.  Tom Martin boated 2, including the winning fish.  Dick Crowl and Wayne Post each caught one keeper. Tom Martin proudly displays his fish pool prize winning catch, a nice 25 1/2 inch gag grouper caught aboard the Thunder on November 18th. Dick Bradford with his beauty of a sheepshead caught out of Crystal River fishing with Captain Steve Fussell on February 15th.  Also helping Dick boat 3 keepers and a dozen small redfish were Pete Welsh, Pete Amaral and Millard Johnson.

Bunny is all smiles at the November 6th meeting as she was presented with a nice deep sea rod and reel by President Belter for her service as club secretary for the past several years. Vernon Cash did it again!!! A whopper cobia caught on the Pastime Princess on November 11th gave him the 1st prize of $150.  They also caught trigger fish and sea bass. Get a look at this nice speckled trout, one of three caught by Dwayne Pfenniger out of Cedar Key on November 18th.  Nice job, Dwayne.

Also on the Pastime Princess on July 8th, Gerrie and John Laffey show off their nice flounder.  That's good eating, folks. Wow!!!!!!!!!!  A new club record has been set.  Bill Smock boated this 50-lb cobia aboard the Pastime Princess on Sunday, July 11th.  He swears by the book that he caught and brought it in with absolutely no help.  It's true because he won the $110 big fish pool.  CONGRATULATIONS BILL! No giant ones, but during a trip on the Haf n Haf on August 23rd, about a 100 seabass were caught with 75 of them keeper size.  On the trip were Glenn Kangas, Everett Belter, Willie Kuecker, Bob Seguin,Vernon Cash and Al Lipold.

Wow!  An all-time record waiting to be broken by a club member.  Arlene Cash brought aboard a beauty of a red snapper weighing upwards of 20 lbs on the Pastime Princess on June 3rd.  Arlene couldn't hoist it without the mate's help.  Alas, with red snapper season closed, she had to pitch it overboard and wasn't able to qualify for the big fish prize.  Good going, Arlene. Another beauty hoisted aboard by Vernon Cash on June 26th on the Pastime Princess.  His Amberjack easily won the fish pool again!  A second AJ, Mangrove Snappers and other assorted fish were also caught by the Cash family. Rich Waller proudly displays his nice 5-lb trigger fish which gave him the big fish pool prize of a whopping $180 aboard the Pastime Princess on July 8th.  Do you realize that is a whopping $36 a pound.  Good show, Rich.

Roger Mayer proudly displays his whopping 29 pound amberjack caught aboard the Haf n Haf on May 6th.  He was joined by Kathy Mayer, Eva Mayer, Charlie Mayer, Glenn Kangas and Bob Seguin who all contributed to a nice catch of AJ's, cobia and king mackeral.  Our President Everett set a record waiting to be broken by someone in the club.  He  brought aboard the Pastime Princess on May 13th a gigantic 3 pound, 20" grunt and almost won the fish pool with it.  Hey Everett:  That isn't an undersized gag grouper made to look like a grunt, is it? Here's an interesting shot.  Thanks to Steve Fussell's excellent training of the starlings out of Crystal River, Bob is holding up a shrimp on the way to the dock and Steve's trained birds come out from the nearby island and snatch it from his fingers.  Bill Henning and Kirk Freundt were also part of this trip which also boated 20 nice keeper spanish mackerals.

Although red snapper season is closed, the Cash's managed to catch a nice stringer of mangrove snapper aboard the Pastime Princess on April 24th.  The biggest one weighed almost 7 pounds.  Wow!! Wow!!  The Gulf Grouper did it again!!!  Pictured are:  Dick Bradford, Tom Martin, Bart Crawford, Buddie Budde, Pete Welsh and Fred O'Connor with their limit of gag grouper up to 20 lbs, plus lots of kingfish, spanish macks and grunts on the May 4th trip out of Hernando Beach.  The big fish on this trip was caught by none other than Bart Crawford, who of course took the Photo to make sure this was on record forever.  Just teasing, Bart.  Good job.

The gang opened up the new season with a limit of keeper grouper up to 16 lbs. aboard the Gulf Grouper on April 12th.  From L to R: Everett Belter, Vernon Cash, Chuck Yahnke, Jim Bensema, Ray Johnson and Dick Gamble. Jim Bensema took home the big fish prize on this same trip with a nice 16 lb. gag grouper.  Although he didn't get the big one, Everett boated four keepers.  This fine looking bunch of guys includes Skip Bakeman, Barry Fouracre, Roger Trafton, Bill Smock, Bob Seguin and Ev Arnold next to their fine catch of gag grouper and grunts caught aboard the Gulf Grouper on April 20th.

Arlene Cash broke the losing streak of recent fishing due to cold weather with a nice string of trigger and seabass on February 22nd on the Pastime Princess.  She even won first prize in the fish pool with her trigger.  "Bout time someone beat out Vernon. Wayne Post PROUDLY holds the most expensive fish in the world.  Fishing on the Pastime Princess on April 8th, Wayne struggled to boat this WHOPPING 14 1/2 inch trigger fish which surprisingly won him the $186 fish pool.  Do you realize this fish is worth 13 dollars an inch!!!!!! Another successful trip on the Gulf Grouper on April 23rd by Loren Van Schoit, Bob Cotner, Dave Kirsch, Tom Gorman, Jim Tracy and Jack Skelly.  Seven nice grouper, including a big red, were brought aboard plus several nice grunts.

Fred O'Connor hoists a nice mess of trigger fish and sea bass caught aboard the Pastime Princess on January 14th Tom Martin was so excited over catching 22 whopper trigger fish, he lost his head over it.  Oh well, at least he didn't lose the fish.  Tom got these on the Pastime Princess on January 14th.  Everett Belter caught 19 triggers.  Billy Kahn had the biggest trigger which weighed in at 5 lbs. Arlene Cash also did well.  According to Everett, 136 trigger fish were caught on this trip.

The gang on the January 7th trip: Cy Morgan, John Storer, Wade Heath, Dick Gamble, Paul Watkins and Andy Pallotto.  Note the baseball caps, it must have warmed up a little.

The Cash's did it again. Nice catch of 4 red snapper up to a whopping 12 lbs., 12 sea bass, 2 mangrove snapper up to 6 lbs., 1 yellow tail and 1 6-lb kingfish caught aboard the Pastime Princess on a 2-3 day trip in late December. Bill Smock shows off his whopper of a red snapper also caught aboard the Pastime Princess on a recent trip.

Here is the group responsible for this: (not necessarily in order):  Pete Welsh, Ron Dahlgren, Don Goughan, Richy Farow, Jayne Goughan, and Dave Dolinsky.  Pete Welsh holds up his beauty red snapper. Although not shown, the rest of the group certainly added their share of fish to the pile.  Way to go guys.  Congrats to Skipper Doug and Mate Matt for a successful trip.

Likewise, Jayne with her snapper Finally, Don with his whopper.  Looks like Cpt Doug had to provide a little help hoisting this monster.  The amount of fish your webmaster Bob has caught lately.
